The Temple Garden

The Temple Garden–2015 Summary

As the Temple Garden winds down, a huge Thank You is in order to the many who helped make this year’s garden outreach effort successful.  Helpful hands and hearts were active in everything from tilling and planting to picking and cleaning up.  Thank you as well to the Membership Care team members who made several deliveries of garden flowers to area nursing homes and shut-ins.  Some of our flowers even made it into the Sunday morning altar flower arrangements.

Deliveries of fresh veggies were made to those in need from West Terre Haute to Seelyville, as well as many areas in between.  Vegetables valued at over $500 were also given to many very appreciative families attending our Back to School Bash.

The Temple Garden is just one of the many ways we are able to reach out to those in need in our community.  While satisfying physical needs is very important, satisfying spiritual needs has much greater importance.  United Methodist Temple offers many opportunities to help in that effort as well as we strive to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”.
